We learned the weight and value of last words the hard way.
On December 20, 2023, my daughter Courtney passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. No warning. No second chances. Our last words were our last words. I have no doubt that those words were loving and encouraging, but not everyone has that comfort.
Since Courtney’s passing, I started imagining how different our world would be if our last words were always uplifting people instead of tearing them down.
Every person you meet, every single day, needs to feel like who they are, and what they do is important. Each person needs to feel valued. A few simple words from you can go a long way.
Let the last words you say be positive, encouraging, loving. You won’t know which words you say will be the last words you say. But you can be sure your last words leave a lasting impression.
By accepting this challenge, we can ensure there will be no more regrets about the last words.
This is the challenge. This is a choice we each can make. Together, we can change the world.
