Words have power, but few have the power to evoke change.
The Declaration of Independence shaped a young Nation.
Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address held that Nation together.
Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” broke barriers and encouraged all people to work for a better tomorrow.
But the most powerful words ever spoken weren’t lofty, eloquent, or carefully crafted…yet, the power they carried changed eternity.
“It is finished.”
Every word ever spoken concerning Jesus, the Messiah, was fulfilled during His time on earth. He finished all He came to do — He was born simply, lived sinlessly, died humbly, and rose again powerfully — just as He said.
His final words mean we have THE WAY to the Father through Him. His sacrifice is a free gift to all who believe.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world but to save the world through Him. (John 3:16-17) Greater love has no one than this, than a Man lay down His life for His friends.” (John 15:13)
This free gift is yours. The Bible says that if you “confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
If you believe Jesus is who He said He is, and His Words are true…tell Him. Confess to Him now, through prayer, that you know you are a sinner and cannot pay for your own sin….that you accept Jesus’ free gift and claim His blood as payment in your place. Thank Him for the power of His Words, the price of His love, and the gift of your salvation.
